Real Estate Agent Mobile Phone Apps for iPhones and Droids
"How they Work", "What they Look Like" and "Why You Need One"
Every real estate agent will have their own mobile phone app
in the next 24-36 months just like they have websites now.
Why Will I Need a Mobile Phone App?
Because that is where consumers are and if you want to be where the buyers and sellers are you will have smart phone technology marketing your real estate business in 2012 and beyond.
Just like agents needed websites when the Internet took off so too they need a "mobile phone app" to capture and attract mobile phone buyers which are nearly 75% of users on Google making searches.

Having a QR Code for your own app is like having a website. You will eventually have one and reach people through mobile phones and not traditional "home computers", which is where things started.
"What Is a Real Estate Mobile Phone App and How Does it Work"?
The easiest way to describe what a "real estate mobile phone app is" would be to say that "it is a website for mobile phones" and away to present the same basic information in a mobile friendly viewing format.
Mobile Phone Apps basically have the same features as websites but are much more interactive and desirable for recieving and searching for real estate information.
A real estate mobile phone app has many features which it can incorporate but the main things are:

1. Present your listings and area listings for sale in the form of links to our website and also feature map based real estate searches showing listings for sale via the MLS feed or Oodle.com.
2. Present your company information and details and get people on a "Phone Mailing List", which reaches clients faster and gets responses faster.
3. Showcase community events and open houses on an "Events Calendar". Use the app to showcase what makes your community special and include community events, fundraisers, church events, school events etc.
4. Feature your blog and social media including YouTube.com videos, Facebook and links to Twitter to build followers and connect on multiple online sites and locations.
There are dozens of features an iPhone and Android app can
offer and these are just a few.

5. CASH IN ON YOUR ADVERTISING DOLLARS with QR Codes in Your Ads! Just like you include a web address make sure you have a QR Code on all business cards, print ads, websites, social media profiles, mailers and sign riders since "mobile phone interaction" is what consumers are looking for and very few agents and catering to the clients needs for gathering information.
CONVERT MORE CLIENTS INTO CONTACTS - OFFER QR CODES ON ALL ADVERTISING
Stop waisting money on print ads with no QR codes and be one of the first people to have "their own app", and now grabbing QR codes from a broker and building out their base of clients and contacts.
The future of looking for homes is "Scanning" and not "Searching" so make sure you have QR "bar codes" on your sites and allow people to carry your business with them on mobile phones. The sooner you start marketing and securing downloads before others in your marketplace the better!

Why Do I Need An App? Once an app is loaded on the phone what you don't have to do is go back and surf the net - once someone uploads an app all the MLS data is now easier to get than searching back for websites. The MLS is on an app on the front of your phone + iTunes is a great place to get leads from when iPhone users are looking for a real estate app - free uploads and free marketing to over 300 million + iPhone users looking for apps. Droid will upload anything people submit no matter how bad and Apple has a strict approval policy which is why you probably have some bad app choices on Droid right now. Quite frankly so few agents have apps that I do not think the quality will get better until they start taking mobile phone technology more serious and start putting more time and effort into producing the apps. The main function an app can do is provide MLS via search, mapping and auto email listing data. Thanks for dropping by the landing page with the comments and have a great week! Sean .
My comment about bookmarks was in reference to your comment "once someone uploads an app all the MLS data is now easier to get than searching back for websites". Once they have my site bookmarked they don't have to search through the thousands of apps to find my app. And teo of my IDXs work on smart phones. I am not sure about the 3rd one.
Apple, iTunes and Android Stores Help Generate Real Estate Leads and Sales for Agents with Free Real Estate App Advertising
There is nothing like being the first in your area to have something new whether it be a cool car, new iPhone or in this case even the first real estate app in your city, town or even neighborhood. In the world of real estate having the first or one of the first "real estate apps" in your area can easily translate into dozens of leads and "app uploads" and home sales.
I spoke with a real estate agent in Sarasota yesterday who noticed that in his area there was only one app being offered by a real estate agent in the iTunes store so he went and loaded it up and then later called me to ask "How did you get that agent in the iTunes Store with an app?"
The process is actually quite easy and simple to do but the fact is that right now there are over 300 million iPhone users who love using "apps" for helping them get things done. Looking for homes to buy is much easier on a Smart Phone when you can navigate and search neighborhoods while you drive through them.
It brings up a good point and a real change in technology because normally maps on a PC are more for show that actual function but real estate maps on an app are more for function and less for show since the maps can be used in the field.
Having a "real estate app" is going to be just like having a website is now except way more important as we move forward because there is not as much room to market apps like there is domain names since the choices are fewer.
I have clients in Chattanooga Tennessee who have gotten 50 app uploads in the first 6 weeks just because they are the only local real estate app in the iTunes Store.
The fact is that right now I am setting up some of the first agents in their respective markets in the country with some of the first iPhone and Android apps available on the iTunes and Android Stores.
I feel sorry for real estate agents who have spent a small fortune learning and setting up websites because the playing field has changed once again and we are now in a mobile "Smart Phone" world where "scanning" is replacing "searching" on the Internet. People don't realize it but website marketing is already outdated and mobile phone technology is the "present" and not the future of how real estate is going to be bought in sold in 2012. The majority of buyers use their smart phones to find homes and agents to work with.
The good news is that apps themselves are rather inexpensive to build and own starting at around $400 and up and right now the majority of real estate buyers and sellers are on Smart Phones and now one is marketing to them.
By getting an app in iTunes you can begin to be one of the agents getting free leads and uploads simply by being one of the only apps available.
If you need help setting up an app please feel free to call or email for more information.
Best wishes to your success!
